Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Iowa City, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and road / highway.
This project includes PCC street reconstruction, storm intake top replacement and storm sewer manhole structure replacement, PCC sidewalk and ADA curb ramp improvements at Juniper Drive between Alpine Court and 3117 Juniper Drive and Washington Street between Madison and Capitol Streets. All work is to be done in strict compliance with the Project Manual prepared by Shive-Hattery, Inc. Each proposal must be submitted on a form furnished by the City, in a sealed envelope, along with a separate sealed envelope containing a completed Bidder Status Form and a bid security in the sum of 10% of the bid. The successful bidder must furnish a Performance, Payment, and Maintenance Bond in the amount of 100% of the contract price guaranteeing the performance of the contract, the payment of all materials and labor, and the maintenance of the improvement for five years from formal acceptance by the City Council. The project is divided into phases and stages with specified completion timelines and incentive/disincentive provisions. Bidders must list intended subcontractors, the type of work, and approximate amounts. Preference is given to products, provisions, and labor from within the State of Iowa, as required by law. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technicalities and irregularities.
