Sealed bids are invited for the removal and replacement of sludge pumps at the Waste Water Treatment Plant in Grosse Ile Township, Michigan. The work includes the careful removal, salvaging, and turnover to the Owner of three existing sludge pumps (SSP-1, 2, and 3), associated 3" discharge piping and valves, air release valves and supports, and the demolition of concrete pump pedestals. The process requires maintaining operational status of pump SSP-1 while SSP-2 and SSP-3 are being replaced, followed by the removal of SSP-1 after the others are in operation. Installation work involves installing three new sludge pumps (Wemco 4x11S Model E, furnished by the Owner), modifying the existing concrete pump pad to match the new pump suction centerline, installing new 4" ductile iron piping, plug valves, and check valves, reconnecting flushing and seal water lines, and providing new gauges and indicators as required. Electrical work includes re-connection of the pump motors with new flexible conduit from relocated disconnect switches. A completed Bid Bond, Certified Check, or Cashier's Check in an amount not less than 5% of the proposal must accompany each bid as security for contract acceptance by the lowest qualified bidder. The Owner reserves all rights to accept or reject proposals, waive irregularities, and award the contract in any manner. Proposals submitted after the specified receipt time will not be considered.
