Site work and paving for a civil project in Grosse Ile, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; and road / highway.

Reference Number 0000432159 Major items of work include but are not limited to the following: A. Bridge Structure: Replacement of filled and open grid decks; replacement of stringers; installation of bottom lateral bracing on approach spans; replacement of bottom lateral bracing on swing span; replacement of all stringers; strengthening of all floorbeams on approach spans and most floorbeams on the swing span; replacement and strengthening of pivot pier supporting steel; replacement of 4 lower chord pins and eyebars and 2 upper chord pins on the swing span; replacement of bridge railing; installation of barrier gate supporting structure on the approach spans; repairs to approach span bearings; miscellaneous above-water concrete repairs to substructures; installation of articulating block slope protection at abutments. B. Bridge Machinery: Removal of existing operating machinery and replacement with hydraulic machinery; removal of end lift machinery and centering mechanism and replacement with new end wedge machinery. C. Bridge Electrical Work: Replacement of all electrical elements, including but not limited to drives, control desks, resistors and motor control cabinet in control room; electrical machinery and limit switches on the swing span; all conduits and cabinets; gate controls and traffic gates. Installation of new motors, PLC control system using ethernet communications, barrier gates on the bridge and traffic gates at the abutments, back-up generator, navigation lights and signal horns, and prefab electrical house at the toll plaza. Installation of new submarine cable. D. Bridge Road Improvements: Resurfacing and widening of Bridge Road from the intersection at Jefferson Avenue to the west abutment. Resurfacing limit is at Jefferson Avenue and does not include Jefferson Avenue. Work also includes replacement of guardrail, removal of traffic signals and installation of new traffic signals, new signage and striping, installation of one new toll booth and toll booth island (included in Bridge plans), and installation of concrete pads fo the generator and electric house at the toll plaza (included in Bridge plans). Proposal guarantee shall provide assurance the Bidder will, upon acceptance of the bid, execute the necessary Contract with the Township of Grosse Ile.
