Renovation of a water / sewer project in Cleveland, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
The project consists of the rehabilitation of the elevated Depot Street Water Tank, including repairing the tank anchor bolts, upgrades to the overflow pipe, upgrades to the tower access ladder, installing climbing guards on lattice legs, adjusting the windage rods to withstand 100 mph winds from any direction, reinforcing the strut ends, installation of a swing gate on the balcony, drilling additional weep holes in the balcony floor, welding the circumference of the posthead-to-shell connections for reinforcement, cleaning and lubricating all moving parts on the liquid level indicator and calibrating the unit, installation of a guard rail system on the tank roof, upgrades to the roof access ladder, replacing the existing finial ball with a vacuum-pressure frost proof vent and screen, surface preparation and recoating of the exterior and interior of the tank, remounting the roof with gusset plates and seam sealing the circumference of the roof-to-shell connection, performing cleanout of the interior of the tank, replacement of the roof manway, installation of a safety grill over the riser pipe, and disinfecting the tank interior upon completion. The Town of Cleveland is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors for this project. Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened and read aloud.
