2026 mowing of freeway interchanges: Project maps are available at the township office during business hours. Please bid these as a complete job. 1. Location 1 is the I 69 Irish Road interchange, Irish Road median, and the welcome sign area that needs to be sprayed for weeds weekly. 2. Location 2 is the I 69 M 15 Interchange A: Mowing is to be 2 times a month from 1 May until 1 October or per supervisor request due to weather conditions. (If conditions are very dry maybe mowing 1 time a month) B: All trash is to be picked up and removed. C: Weed whacking is to be done around all guardrails. D: Weed spraying around Irish Road welcome sign stone area. 3. Per MDOT permit, "men working ahead signs" must be placed at the north and south sections of the road to warn drivers of the mowing operation ahead. 4. Per MDOT, work to be performed between 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. 5. Per MDOT permit, work cannot be performed on Saturday, Sunday, or from 3:00 p.m. on the day preceding until the normal starting time the day after the following holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. Proposal requirements: Bids must be in office by 10 a.m. May 1, 2026, no post marks. Please submit as a complete job. Contract provisions: The selected vendor will be required to adhere to a set of general contract provisions which will become part of any formal agreement. The contractor is to report to the Township Supervisor or his designee and will cooperate and confer as necessary to ensure satisfactory work progress. Documents submitted by the contractor must be dated and bear the contractor’s name. The department may review and inspect the contractor’s activities during the term of the contract. The contractor will provide the required service and will not subcontract or assign the service without the Township’s written approval. Insurance requirements: The contractor will maintain at its own expense workers compensation insurance and commercial general liability insurance, with Davison Township added as "additional insured" on the general liability policy. Compliance: The contractor will comply with all federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA/MIOSHA requirements and the Americans with Disabilities Act. The contractor will not discriminate against any employee because of race, creed, color, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, physical handicap, age, weight, marital status, religion, or political belief. The Township Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive or not to waive informalities or irregularities in bids or bidding procedures, and to expect or further negotiate cost terms or conditions of any bid determined by the Township board to be in the best interests of the Township even though not the lowest bid.
