Quotes are required for the Gravel Maintenance Program, with the Municipality divided into 5 sections. Gravelling is to occur between June and September, weather permitting. Bidders should submit unit prices per tonne for 'A' base and traffic granular material for any sections of interest. A minimum of three belly-dump trailers with the ability to close under load are required. All material must meet Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure Specifications and be independently lab tested for gradation prior to hauling. Contractors must give the Public Works Manager ten days notice before hauling, and all material must be scaled with weigh slips provided to the Gravel Checker. The Municipality reserves the right to reject non-compliant material and charge for additional testing of material outside specification. Trucks may be spot checked and sieve analyses may be conducted. Sections must be completed in a timely manner, and contractors will be notified two weeks in advance prior to graveling a section unless agreed otherwise. Hauling on AST roads should be avoided or conducted at reduced speed and load. The lowest bid is not necessarily accepted. All quoted prices must include supply, delivery, application, aggregate mining levies, hauling levies, and mining taxes (excluding GST). Bidders should use the attached Proposed Gravel form.
