The scope of work for this project includes A minimum of 48 hours prior to each operation, no parking/driving signs will be placed along affected areas. Barricade signs will be placed on your street with parking and/or driving date restrictions listed for the final resurfacing materials to be placed. In case of inclement weather, it may be necessary to reschedule the Contractor's operation. Typical hours of operation are between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. During this construction, we request your cooperation in find alternative routes away from the construction zone by using other nearby street(s) not under construction. We also request that children refrain from playing in or around the construction zones for their safety. As described in the Bidding Documents, the bids are for a public works project, Bus Stop Improvement Project (Project) which include, but are not limited to: 1) 776 S.F. of 4" thick PCC sidewalk per SPPWC Std.; 2) Furnish and install 1 classic bus shelter; 3) 1 construct 611 Thick x 8' Wide x 12' long concrete pad for bus shelter; 4) 14 install 6' plaza bench; 5) 1 install 4' plaza bench; 6) 7 furnish and install trash receptacle powder coated; 7) 2 salvage existing concrete benches and deliver to City's Maintenance Yard; 8) 4 salvage existing trash receptacles and deliver to City's Maintenance Yard; and 9) 2 relocate and reinstall Bus Stop sign and pole. The expected completion time of the Project is 30 consecutive working days when the City issues a Notice to Proceed. This Project requires payment of State prevailing rates of wages for Ventura County. The contractor must post copies of the prevailing schedule at each job site. The Bid shall be submitted and the work shall be performed by a State of California Class A licensed contractor in strict conformance with Specification No. SV 26-28, and now on file in the City's Department of Public Works and the Office of the City Clerk. Copies of these rates of wages are available from the State of California Department of Industrial Relations Prevailing Wage Unit, Telephone No. (415) 703-4774. Five percent (5%) will be deducted from each progress payment and retained by the City. The remainder less the amount of all previous payments will be paid to the Contractor. Pursuant to Public Contracts Code ("PCC") 22300, the Contractor may substitute securities for retention monies held by the City or request that the City place such monies into an escrow account. The Contractor is notified, pursuant to PCC 22300, any such election will be at the Contractor own expense and will include costs incurred by the City to accommodate the Contractor's request.
