The Fayette County Commission invites qualified contractors to submit sealed bids for the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Building Restoration Project, which includes masonry restoration, wood repair, and roof/gutter replacement. For more information, please contact: Elisabeth Daniels Fayette County Commission elisabeth.daniels@fayettecountywv.gov (304) 574-4258 Scope of Work The project includes restoration and repair of the historic Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Building and shall include, but is not limited to: Masonry Restoration (All Elevations): o Cleaning of masonry surfaces using approved restoration methods o Removal of efflorescence and application of water repellent o Cutting out and repointing mortar joints (minimum 3/4 " depth) o Replacement of deteriorated brick o Caulking of windows, doors, and building joints o Repair and patching of stone cornice and foundation areas o Removal of coatings and repainting where specified Wood Restoration (South Elevation Only): o Replacement of wood molding beneath gutters o Repair or replacement of damaged wood elements
