Site work and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Conroe, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.

The City of Conroe is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors to furnish and install decorative lighting enhancements along a designated gateway corridor entering the City. The project is intended to enhance visual appeal, improve community identity, and create an inviting entrance experience.. The project includes, but is not limited to, installing decorative and/or architectural lighting along bridge structures, wrapping tree trunks with commercial-grade LED string lighting to create a cascading weeping willow effect, providing a traffic safety plan, delivering training and documentation including operation and maintenance manuals and staff training, and a one-year warranty covering all materials, equipment, and workmanship from the date of final acceptance. Optional ongoing maintenance service may also be proposed, with a recommended maintenance plan for routine inspections and servicing of lighting components. Bidders must submit a completed bid packet, provide all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to provide the required services, comply with safety and appearance standards for employees, and provide references for similar services. The award will be based on best bid, considering experience and qualifications, project approach and design, cost, project schedule, maintenance and warranty, and compliance with technical capabilities. Submissions must meet minimum specifications and include all required documentation. The contractor will be responsible for obtaining all required permits and insurance, and for the behavior and appearance of their employees while on site. Submission instructions require bids to be submitted electronically or physically to the Purchasing Department, and all questions must be asked through OpenGov. Decorative Lighting Installation - Gateway Corridor Improvements The scope of work includes, but is not limited to: o Bridge Lighting o Install decorative and/or architectural lighting along bridge structures o Ensure fixtures highlight structural elements and provide uniform illumination o All installations must comply with TxDOT, local regulations o Tree Lighting o Wrap tree trunks with commercial-grade LED string lighting Lights installed in each tree, suspended to create a cascading "weeping willow" effect. o Ensure proper spacing, symmetry, and aesthetic consistency o Maintain the health of the trees. o Traffic Safety Plan o Training and Documentation o Provide the City with operation and maintenance manuals for all installed systems o Provide training to designated City staff on system operation, controls, and basic troubleshooting o Warranty o Provide a minimum one (1) year warranty on all materials, equipment, and workmanship from the date of final acceptance o Clearly outline manufacturer warranties for lighting fixtures, electrical components, and control systems o Include provisions for prompt repair or replacement of any failed components during the warranty period at no additional cost to the City o Ongoing Maintenance Service: This will be a separate upload, as the City may or may not choose to do this option. o Proposers may include optional pricing for extended maintenance agreements beyond the warranty period, including annual service contracts Provide a recommended maintenance plan outlining routine inspections, cleaning, and servicing of all lighting components Perform periodic inspections to identify and address damaged, malfunctioning, or worn equipment Replace defective lights, wiring, or fixtures in a timely manner to maintain continuous operation and aesthetic quality Ensure all lighting remains securely fastened and compliant with safety standards, particularly for installations on bridges and trees Question Submission Deadline:April 27, 2026, 2:00pm All questions shall be asked through OpenGov. Should a Bidder discover a discrepancy or an omission in the plans or specifications, he should at once notify the Purchasing Department so that an addendum can be issued. No explanation or interpretation other than an addendum issued by the City will be considered official or binding.
