Renovation of an educational facility in Champaign, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Project consists of general work to include a new electrical room on the B Wing first floor to replace existing electrical equipment located throughout the basement in mechanical rooms and chases. A portion of one existing classroom is used for the new electrical room and the remaining space is combined with a second classroom to form a larger classroom space. General work includes new partitions, doors and frames, acoustical tile ceilings, carpet tile flooring and painting. Technology work will consist of new infrastructure for new IT Room and removal and reinstallation of existing door security hardware. Fire alarm work will consist of removal and reinstallation of existing fire alarm devices. Mechanical work will include conditioning of the new classroom, electrical room and adjacent IT room. The project will be constructed under a single prime electrical contract. The Contractor shall pay or cause to be paid not less than the prevailing rates of wages as found by the Owner or the Illinois Department of Labor to all laborers, workmen and mechanics engaged in the Work. The Contractor shall be responsible for notifying all Subcontractors of this requirement, the prevailing rates, and any revisions thereto. Contractors must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the Work. A bid bond, bank draft, or certified check made payable to the Board of Trustees Community College District No. 505 - Parkland College in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Base Bid proposal shall accompany each bid as a guarantee that the Bidder, if awarded the Contract, will furnish satisfactory Performance Bond, Labor and Material Payment Bond, in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract sum, execute the Contract and proceed with the Work. No Bidder may withdraw their bid for a period of 45 days after the date of opening thereof. The Board of Trustees reserves the right to reject any or all bids or any part thereof, to waive any informalities and irregularities in the bidding and to accept the bids deemed most favorable to their interest, after all bids have been examined and evaluated. General Contractors who do not submit a bid will forfeit their drawing deposit. The successful bidder shall begin the Work on receipt of the Notice to Proceed and shall complete the Work within the Contract Time.
