The District of Fort St James invites qualified proponents to submit proposals for the supply of surface aeration equipment for upgrades to an existing wastewater lagoon system. The current treatment system is comprised of 5 lagoon cells, with cells 3 and 5 having a submerged aeration system. The proposal is to supply surface aerators for specified cells to address existing conditions the District seeks to improve. The treatment system was designed for a population of 5000, though currently serves 2153 as of 2021, and operates with cell temperatures ranging from -1.5_C in winter to 13_C in summer.
