Renovation of an educational facility in Bloomington, Indiana. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Electronic bids will be received for the BL000B Multi Building project, which includes BL414 Myles Brand, BL059 Lindley Hall, and BL157 Fine Arts Classroom Renovation at Indiana University Bloomington. A unified bid is requested for all work in the project, including General, Mechanical, and Electrical Construction work. Bid proposals must be in full accord with the bidding documents available from the owner. Each bid must include a completed Minority, Women's and Veteran's Business Enterprise Participation Plan detailing good faith efforts to include minority, women, and veteran-owned businesses as subcontractors or suppliers, a bid security for 5% of the total bid, and the contractor's written drug testing program in compliance with IC 4-13-18. The owner reserves the right to accept or reject any bid and to waive any irregularities. A bid may be considered incomplete if it lacks any required documentation, including the participation plan. The base bid may be held for up to sixty days before contract award; alternate bids may be held for up to ninety days before award and incorporation by change directive. Withdrawal or failure to execute a contract within ten days after notice of acceptance may result in forfeiture of bid security as liquidated damages. The IU Construction Manager will arrange for access to be issued to the Contractor to buildings or rooms. The Contractor is required to fill out a form for the keys and is liable for the cost of rekeying if the keys are lost or not returned. All project sites are to be secured during non-work hours to prevent unauthorized access and safety hazards to project site. Excessive noise from construction activities may require rescheduling or off hours to avoid quiet week, finals week, graduation ceremonies, or at the request of the Owner.
