Site work, paving and renovation of a bridge / tunnel in North East, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a bridge / tunnel.

This project consists of the rehabilitation of the Wellington Street Bridge over Sixteen Mile Creek superstructure, approximately 47 feet. Work includes removal of the existing paved wearing surface on the existing prestressed concrete adjacent box beams. A new proposed reinforced concrete deck will be added, making the existing beams composite. The bridge railings will be replaced with new reinforced concrete barriers and sidewalks. The project also includes approach pavement replacement, approach sidewalk replacement, guide rails, approach drainage, and all other related work. No work in the creek is anticipated. Each bid must be accompanied by proposal security in the form of a certified check or a bid bond in an amount not less than ten percent of the total base bid price. Proposal security shall be made payable to the North East Borough. All bidders must be registered on the official plan holder's list to submit an official bid for consideration. Addenda will be issued only to those who have purchased a full set of contract documents. No bidder may withdraw its bid for a period of 60 days after the date of bid opening. This project is subject to PA Department of Labor Prevailing Wage Rate determinations. The North East Borough reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informality in the bidding and to accept the bid serving the best interest of the North East Borough. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by the ENGINEER/ARCHITECT in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by the ENGINEER/ARCHITECT as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than 10 days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered.
