Site work for a water / sewer project in Elgin, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The project consists of removal, disposal, and replacement of clarifier equipment in three rectangular primary clarifiers, including but not limited to chains, flights, guides, drives, motors, weirs, scum troughs, handrails, and outdoor lights. It also includes investigation and lining, repair, or replacement of primary sludge draw off lines; mass grading, retaining wall, soil stabilization; removal, disposal, and replacement of manual scum troughs in two chlorine contact tanks. All associated site utility work, grading, paving, electrical, and systems integration are included to provide fully functional wastewater treatment plant infrastructure as shown in the plans and specifications. Sealed bids must be received on forms furnished by the District. Each bid must include bid security in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid, payable to the Fox River Water Reclamation District. Bids may not be withdrawn and must remain valid for thirty (30) days after the bid opening date. The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids, parts of bids, waive any technical errors or omissions, modify or eliminate the scope of work, award all or part of the scope of work, and accept any bid in its entirety or any part thereof as judged to be in the District's best interests. The project is subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act and the Fox River Water Reclamation District Ordinance Establishing Responsible Bidder Requirements on Public Works Projects. All questions regarding the meaning or intent of the Bidding Instructions or Bid Documents, including any discrepancies or omissions within the documents or between the documents and site conditions, shall be submitted in writing to the Owner not less than seven (7) days prior to the Bid Opening. Investigation and lining, repair, or replacement of primary sludge draw off lines. Removal and replace outdoor lights. Mass grading, retaining wall, soil stabilization.
