The work consists of the construction of approximately 180 linear feet of 2" water main, 1951 linear feet of 8" water main, 4891 linear feet of 12" water main, 1263 linear feet of bored water main, 3524 linear feet of 10" sanitary sewer gravity main, 225 linear feet of 12" sanitary sewer gravity main, 37 sanitary sewer manholes, 1958 linear feet of bored sanitary sewer main, 3261 linear feet of 8" sanitary sewer force main, 286 linear feet of 8" bored sanitary sewer force main, and a sanitary sewer lift station along Apollo Road Extension in the City of Scott, starting at the roundabout at Dulles Drive and Apollo Road and ending at JB Road. All work is to be completed within 345 working days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Sealed bids must be received at the City of Scott. Bids received after the specified time will not be considered. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashiers check, or bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid plus additive alternates. If a bid bond is submitted, it must be issued by an authorized company meeting the specified licensing and rating requirements. The certified check, cashiers check, or bid bond is a guarantee that the bidder will execute the contract within ten days if awarded. Bids must be signed as per LA RS Title 38:2212(B)5 with a Corporate Resolution or Certificate of Authority submitted with the bid. Bids may not be withdrawn for 45 days after the scheduled bid opening. The successful contractor must execute performance and labor and material payment bonds in the full contract amount. Contractors must be licensed for MUNICIPAL and PUBLIC WORKS CONSTRUCTION for bids of the specified amounts. The City of Scott encourages the participation of Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) in all contracts.
