The project involves the repair of the jail roof and related work for the Sheriff's Office. Bids are being requested for this contract and the expected duration for the project is 60 calendar days. All bids must be accompanied by bid security amounting to five percent of the sum of the base bid and all alternates. The successful bidder will be required to provide a Performance and Payment Bond as described in the Instructions to Bidders. Bidders must comply with the provisions and requirements of LA R.S. 38:2212(B)(5), and no bid may be withdrawn for forty-five days after receipt of bids, except as permitted by LA. R.S. 38:2214. Further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award are detailed in the Instructions to Bidders included in the Bidding Documents. The project is classified as Building Construction, Roofing, and Sheet Metal Siding (LA R.S. 37). Printed copies of bidding documents can be obtained for a deposit, fully refundable under certain conditions, and electronic copies are available for a fee. The contractor has the option to submit the proposal and bid bond electronically. Printed copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Officeby paying a deposit of $150 for each set.
