Site work for an educational facility in Monroe, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a educational facility.
Bids are requested for the Shiloh Valley Lighting project for Union County Public Schools. Attendance at the prebid meeting is mandatory. Bidders must familiarize themselves with all aspects of the project. All bid-related communication must be directed to the identified Procurement Lead via email. Questions must be submitted by the specified deadline and will be answered in an addendum. Bids must include all required documentation for responsiveness and/or contract execution. Required documents include an executed cost proposal, good faith efforts forms (Affidavit A, B, Identification of Minority Participation Form), certificate of insurance, 100% performance and payment bonds (within 10 days of award), E-Verify affidavit, and Iran Divestment certification. The awarded company is expected to promptly sign the contract in the provided form. UCPS reserves the right to make awards in the most advantageous way, including single or multiple awards, or to reject all bids. Participation by small, minority, physically handicapped, and women contractors is encouraged, with a goal of at least 10% utilization of diverse firms as subcontractors. The Scope of Work and Specifications and Drawings are referenced as separate attachments. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and incidentals necessary to remove existing lighting fixtures and install new lighting fixtures as indicated on the Electrical Engineer's drawings, specifications, and associated lighting schedules. General Requirements The work shall include, but not be limited to: o Furnishing and installing all new lighting fixtures as specified and shown on the Electrical Engineer's plans and lighting schedule o Removal, disconnection, and proper disposal of existing fixtures where indicated or required to complete the work o Installation of all supports, mounting hardware, raceways, wiring, connectors, controls, lamps, drivers, accessories, and related components necessary for a complete and fully operational lighting system o Making all electrical connections to existing power sources as shown on the drawings or required for proper operation o Testing and verification of all installed lighting to ensure proper functionality, alignment, aiming (where applicable), and performance Field Verification The Contractor shall be responsible for field verifying all existing conditions prior to procurement and installation, including but not limited to fixture quantities, mounting conditions, circuiting, and locations. o Any discrepancies between field conditions and the contract documents shall be promptly reported to the Engineer for review and direction prior to proceeding with affected work. o No substitutions or deviations shall be made without written approval from the Engineer or Owner. Codes and Standards All work shall be performed in strict accordance with: o All applicable local, state, and federal codes and regulations o The National Electrical Code (NEC), as applicable o Manufacturer installation requirements o Project plans, specifications, and contract documents Quality and Completion The Contractor shall ensure all lighting installations are complete, properly secured, operational, and installed in a neat and workmanlike manner. Final installation shall reflect the design intent of the contract documents and provide a fully functional lighting system ready for use by the Owner.
