Sealed bids are requested for the construction of the County Highway 41 Drainage Repair Project (Section 24-00321-00-DR) which includes: concrete storm sewer pipe, PCC patching, PCC driveways, PCC sidewalks, and other incidental work. Bids will be received at the Macon County Highway Department office until the stated deadline and will be publicly opened and read aloud. Firms wishing to bid must request authorization to bid. Authorization is issued to Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) prequalified contractors who have sufficient financial and work ratings. Prospective bidders must submit their Illinois Department of Transportation Certificate of Eligibility and Affidavit of Availability (BC 57), or a waiver letter in accordance with 44 il. Admin. Code 650.310(d). Subcontractors and material suppliers are not required to be IDOT prequalified and will not be considered authorized to bid. Each bid must include a certified check, bank draft, bank cashier's check, or bid bond acceptable to the Owner in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount bid. The general prevailing wage rates shall apply. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, and the County reserves the right to determine responsibility, reject any or all proposals, readvertise, and waive technicalities. Pre-qualification requirements: Authorization to bid is limited to IDOT prequalified contractors who have submitted the required documentation (Certificate of Eligibility and Affidavit of Availability or waiver letter) and have been determined to have sufficient prequalification by the County Engineer. The proposed improvements are located on County Highway 41 (Wyckles Road) on the west side of Decatur, Macon County, Illinois.
