The Fiscal Year (FY) 2021 litigation settlement agreement required the City to expand its wastewater collection system flow monitoring program in to identify the next three sanitary sewer lift station basins with the highest amount of Inflow and Infiltration (I&I). Subsequent to the flow monitoring effort only Lift Station 25 met the criteria for excessive flow. The Lift Station 25 basin is now the Litigation Settlement Agreement Priority No. 1 lift station. The City's goal is to reduce the potential for sanitary sewer overflows (SSO’s) in the local community and reduce the total volume of wastewater received at the Wastewater Reclamation Facility (WWRF). As such, the City plans to implement improvements to the wastewater collection system in this service area(s) to mitigate the Inflow and Infiltration (I&I) volume. The I&I evaluation is scheduled to be completed in FY 2026. Funding for the I&I abatement improvements is requested for the following fiscal year. The project is included in the City's 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
