Site work and paving for a road / highway in Burgaw, North Carolina. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

Due to additional requirements mandated by the North Carolina Stormwater Program, the Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Department is requesting additional funding to cover the expense of design, engineering, survey, permitting, and construction administration of West Side Trail. The original budget for PARTF did not cover these expenses and would be a massive detriment to the overall project budget if not allocated. The Town is currently obligated under contract with the North Carolina Parks Division to provide the stated recreation amenities of West Side Trail. The Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Department believes it is vital to fulfill our obligation to the State and the residents of Burgaw, who voted and advocated for multiple years to have this project built. The project is included in the City's 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of April 18, 2026 , further details have not yet been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
