Demolition, site work and renovation of a transportation facility in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Completed plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility; for the demolition of a transportation facility; and for site work for a transportation facility.

The Work of this Project includes but may not be limited to 1. Renovating the existing Blue Line Lake St Light Rail Station and the area at Hiawatha Avenue along the Blue Line LRT. The LRT Station is a canopied platform with interior back-of-house spaces at the ground level. Work includes removing the existing canopy, elevator, and stair enclosure and reconstructing a new canopy, elevator, and stairs. Additional back-of-house spaces will be created, along with a new accessible ramp for the exterior. 2. All associated civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, systems, and temporary traffic work to support the project. 3. All associated testing and certification work to support the project. 4. Coordination with LRT SCADA updates procured under a separate contract by COUNCIL. 5. Coordinating with organizations and agencies to complete the Work of this Project which includes, but may not be limited to: a. Xcel Energy b. Verizon Wireless c. City of Minneapolis d. Hennepin County e. Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) f. Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) question deadline date changed from 05/20/2026 to 05/29/2026 as per Addendum 2 The construction project is a renovation of the METRO Transit Blue Line Lake Street Midtown Station, located at 2310 East Lake Street, just west of Highway 55 (Hiawatha Avenue) in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The station serves METRO Blue Line Light Rail Transit on an aerial platform. The work of this project includes a major renovation of the Blue Line aerial station, the addition of new, interior operations spaces at the ground level, and the addition of a new, accessible, exterior pedestrian ramp connecting the street level to the platform. The renovation scope includes removing the existing partial canopy and attached overhead catenary system, platform shelters, elevators, escalators, and stair enclosures; reconstructing a new canopy, reinstalling the overhead catenary system, platform amenities, new elevators, and new, widened outdoor staircases; and all associated civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, systems, temporary traffic work, associated testing, and certification to support the project. Firms identified by the Consultant (Prime) that worked on the design of this Project cannot work as a contractor or subcontractor on this construction project. The list of these firms includes: HDR, TLAL-Li, Hallberg Engineering, Braun Intertech, Hatch, Stonebrooke Engineering, NEOO, Shuler Shook, Lerch Bates, Rani Engineering, HNTB Corporation, Young Engineering, Snow Kreilich Architects, SRF Consulting, Kimley Horn, 4RM+ULA.
