The work for this project will generally consist of an urban street reconstruction which shall include the removal of the existing bituminous pavement, grading, concrete curb and gutter, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main, and bituminous paving. Ancillary work includes concrete flatwork, signing, seeding restoration, and erosion control items. Major estimated project quantities include: Bituminous Pavement (All Mixes) 2,900 Ton, Concrete Curb & Gutter 7,300 LF, Concrete Driveway Aprons 1000 SY, Sanitary Sewer Main 3,150 LF, Sanitary Sewer Structures 15 EA, Sanitary Sewer Laterals 62 EA, Water Main 3,500 LF, Water Laterals 62 EA, Hydrants 7 EA, Storm Sewer (All Sizes & Material) 2,250 LF, Storm Sewer Structures (All Sizes) 28 EA. No proposal will be accepted unless accompanied by a certified check or bid bond equal to at least 5% of the amount bid, payable to the Owner as a guarantee that, if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and bond within 15 days after the award of the contract. The certified check or bid bond will be returned to the bidder as soon as the contract is signed, and if after 15 days the bidder shall fail to do so, the certified check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the Owner as liquidated damages. No bidder may withdraw their bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids.
