Site work and renovation of a civil project in Newburyport, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
The project involves removing three existing vertical turbine pumps, motors and Magna Drives, and associated electrical cabling and cable supports along with cleaning and inspecting pump cans, and connecting piping and fittings up to the existing valve assembly on the manifold. This work also includes furnish and install three new vertical turbine pumps and motors, and associated variable speed drives, and associated ductile iron pipe and fittings, furnish and install electric cabling from new variable speed drives to new pump motors and new HVAC split units and power cabling in existing electrical room. Demolish and remove an existing potassium permanganate system and furnish and install a new potassium permanganate system. Relocate and reconnect the existing air backwash system. In the electrical room remove one window and one motorized louver in the north wall, remove one fan, frame, and concrete sill in the west wall, block up openings, and finish existing exterior and interior surfaces. Lastly, provide SCADA integration services for instrumentation and controls via the City's preferred integrator. The total time period for completion of all Work required under this Contract is 365 consecutive calendar days. Work performed beyond the 365 consecutive calendar day period will be subject to liquidated damages in the amount of $1,500 for each consecutive calendar day. Each Bid shall be accompanied by a Bid security in the amount of 5% of the Bid price and in the form described in the Instructions and Information for Bidders. For the successful Bidder a performance bond and a payment bond, each in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price will be required in the form described in the Instructions and Information for Bidders. All Bidders are advised that their Bids must be accompanied by a copy of their Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Commissioner of the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM). The Certificate of Eligibility shall be for the category of pumping stations. An Update Statement form covering the period from the date of the Bidder's most recently filed Contractor Qualification Statement (CQS) to the Bid date shall also be submitted with the bid. Any general bid submitted without the appropriate DCAMM Certificate of Eligibility and Update Statement shall be invalid. Subcontractors shall file with their sub-bids a copy of their DCAMM Certificate of Eligibility and Sub-Bidders Update Statement. Doc note: Hard copies of addenda will not be mailed or faxed. It shall be the sole responsibility of the Contractor to ascertain the existence of any and all addenda. Neither OWNER, OWNER'S PROJECT MANAGER (OPM) nor ENGINEER will be responsible for full or partial sets of the Contract Documents, including Addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office. The Awarding Authority reserves the right to accept any Bid, waive any informalities or minor defects, or reject any or all Bids, if in its sole judgment it is in the best interest of the City of Newburyport to do so. Question Deadline 05/07/2026 All questions by prospective Bidders as to the interpretation of the Contract Documents shall be submitted in writing to Engineer and shall be in its possession at least five (5) business days before the date set for the receipt of Bids. Engineer will then notify, via mail delivery service or electronic mail, Bidders who have taken out the Contract Documents, at the addresses given by them, not less than two (2) business days before said date, interpretations of all questions so raised which, in its opinion, required interpretation
