Weigand Construction will be providing all Construction Manager as Constructor services for new Baseball and Softball Facilities. Sealed bids from pre-qualified contractors will be received for the work and supply of materials for the Baseball and Softball Facilities. All bidding and construction shall be in accordance with construction documents prepared by Martin Riley. Each bid must include a certified check or bid bond made payable to Weigand Construction Co., Inc. for an amount not less than five percent of the maximum bid. Each successful bidder shall enter into a sub-contract and/or purchase order with Weigand Construction and may be required to furnish Performance & Payment Bonds covering the faithful performance of the contract and the payment of all obligations arising thereunder, remaining in full force for one year from substantial completion. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder complying with the conditions for bidding, provided the bid is reasonable and in the best interest of Weigand Construction and the Owner. To be eligible to receive a digital copy of the construction bidding documents, bidders must be a state certified contractor for the work or prequalified with Weigand Construction, by completing the prequalification form to Weigand Construction's satisfaction and as otherwise required in the construction bidding documents. A bidder's ability to provide required bonds is a condition precedent to bidding the project, and any bid submitted without an alternate cost for providing said bonds may be determined as non-responsive by Weigand Construction and rejected.
