Renovation of a fire / police facility in McAllen, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.

The work consists of upgrading the fire administration building/Emergency Operations Center (EOC) breakroom to a fully functioning kitchen. The Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing plans reflect the demolition of the existing space as well as the new design. The new MEP design is as follows: MECHANICAL DESIGN: 1. Relocated an existing air terminal serving the Kitchen to provide a space for installation of a new kitchen hood. 2. All Hood Information shown on the mechanical plans have been provided by Captive Aire (Hood Manufacturer). 3. Replace existing ceiling grid and tiles that have been damaged during construction with new in the remodeled areas. ELECTRICAL DESIGN: 1. Providing New Lighting (normal & emergency) for the remodeled area that consist on 2'x4' troffers. 2. Provided new power for all the kitchen equipment. 3. New Fire Alarm devices to be added matching existing system. The new fire alarm devices shall be connected to the existing Fire Alarm Control Panel. 4. New Security Keypad devices to be added matching existing system. The new security system devices shall be connected to the existing Building Security System. 5. New Telephone/Data devices to be added matching existing system. The new telephone/data devices shall be connected to the existing Building Telephone Board. 6. New Electrical Panel and Dry Type Transformer shall be furnished and installed for the remodeled area and shall be connected to the existing Main Switchboard "MDP" (located in the main electrical room). 7. Electrical contractor shall verify existing "MDP" load per latest NEC prior to the new connection. PLUMBING DESIGN: 1. The plumbing plans reflect the connection of all the kitchen equipment. 2. Contractor shall disconnect/reconnect gas line to the existing emergency generator as shown on the plans. 3. New Plumbing Fixtures shall be furnished and installed as shown on the plumbing plans and connected as such Solicitation documents will not be mailed, emailed, or provided in person. Potential bidders are required to post their questions on the bidding portal under the tab labeled "Clarifications." A Bidder's Bond from a reliable surety company licensed to operate in Texas, or certified cashier's check (bid security) payable without recourse to the City of McAllen, for not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid, must be submitted via a sealed envelope as a guaranty that if awarded the contract, the bidder will enter into a contract with the City of McAllen. Failure to submit the bid security shall be grounds for disqualification. Clarification Deadline 5/11/2026 4:00 PM
