Site work and new construction of a medical facility in Mobile, Alabama. Completed plans call for the construction of a 672-square-foot, one-story above grade medical facility.

The general scope of the work includes USA Health System - University Hospital, located at 2451 University of South Alabama Medical Center Drive, Mobile, is in need of a Modular Lab for an IR Cath Lab. The work requires excavation of the site to create a new concrete slab on grade to support the lab. Delivery of the lab, including the use of a crane to set the lab onto the new slab, is required. The work also includes establishing electrical service and connections to a temporary generator, all utility connections including sewer, water, and data, as well as testing of the lab and state inspections prior to completion. Contractors shall have experience with Test & Balance procedures and construction of Interventional Radiology facilities. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to the University of South Alabama in an amount not less than five percent of the amount of the bid, but not more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder's proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds will be required at the signing of the contract. Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by the Architect (Engineer) or copies thereof. All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding or the bid will not be received or considered. The bidder must clearly display their current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope with the proposal. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgement, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted. Questions and clarifications must be submitted in writing no later than 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 30th.
