Site work for a civil project in Castle Pines, Colorado. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The District operates a five (5) MGD direct filtration water treatment plant and stores treated water in two circular buried tank structures collocated at The Country Club at Castle Pines. Tank #1 is 2-MG and was constructed in the mid-1980s, Tank #2 is 1.5-MG and was constructed in the mid-2000s. Kennedy Jenks assessed both tanks in 2024 and provided recommendations including: repair of exposed wall ties, repair of column cracks and honeycombing, repair of floor cracks, replacement of a failed membrane system at Tank #1, repair of exposed coarse aggregate in walls, repair or replacement of corroded metal equipment (valves, overflow box, stairs), and application of a new coatings system. The South Tanks Rehabilitation Program will implement these rehabilitation recommendations and additional upgrades: demolition and replacement of the existing 4-foot diameter by 24-foot-deep valve vault with a 12.5 x 7-foot rectangular valve vault and associated upgrades, installation of a new sump pump in the valve vault, demolition and replacement of 18-inch, 8-inch, and 6-inch piping and appurtenances around the valve vault including 18-inch and 8-inch butterfly valves, installation of new access hatches at Tank #1 to match Tank #2, installation of a new level transmitter for Tank #1, installation of electrical upgrades to solar power at Tank #2, installation of a new float switch for backup level measurement at Tank #2, and design for abandonment of the 8-inch water main east of the existing valve vault. During pre-construction, support is required for identification and securing of permits, licenses, and inspections including confined space entry, pipeline condition assessment and locating at South Tank #1, design of potential shoring system for the new valve vault, design support with final tank repairs and interior coatings, collection of quantities for tank repairs, 60% and 90% design constructability reviews, cost model development, and development of a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) Proposal.
