Renovation of a fire / police facility in Canton, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.

The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following 1. The following is a brief project overview and is not meant to describe the compete scope of the project Bid Package 2 for the Canton Fire Station 4 project encompasses work scope that is necessary to complete the project, but does not include the construction of the building itself. The construction of the building has already been awarded under Bid Package 1. The Bid Package 2 contractor will need to coordinate with the BP1 contractor regarding construction scheduling and site logistics to avoid overlapping or conflicting tasks. Bid Package #2 Work Scope Backup Generator and Automatic Transfer Switch. 1) The purchase and installation of the emergency backup generator and automatic transfer switch is included in Bid Package 2. 2) The Bid Pack 2 contractor shall provide reinforced concrete housekeeping slabs for this equipment to rest on. 3) The Bid Pack 1 Contractor is responsible for preparing the building systems for the generator and ATS. This includes providing a tap in the main gas line for the generator gas connection and providing underground electrical conduit connections to the equipment being purchased and installed in Bid Pack 2. a) Transfer switch will be needed on-site prior to the generator so the Bid Pack 1 can complete electrical work. b) BP No. 1 will have conduits ran from ATS to Generator c) BP No. 1 will install ATS provided by others d) BP No. 2 will be responsible for wires pulled from ATS to Generator. Contractors bidding on Bid Package 2 should take note of the specific federal requirements indicated. When submitting the bids, the bid form requires the contractor to confirm their ability to meet these requirements. In terms of work scope, Bid Package 2 generally contains the following: Fine grading, topsoil, landscaping, and irrigation; the purchase and installation of the generator and automatic transfer switch equipment; the installation of emergency traffic signal and crossover lanes in Michigan Avenue; and exterior concrete flatwork.
