Renovation of a municipal facility in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

For questions or additional information, please contact: John Shannon Assistant County Manager Phone: 252-335-0865 Email: shannonj@co.pasquotank.nc.us The project involves the replacement of the HVAC boiler system at the Pasquotank County Department of Social Services. The work includes providing all labor, materials, equipment, tools, permits, and supervision necessary to complete the project in its entirety. The contractor will perform a full system startup and commissioning. Some work is required to be completed over a weekend to minimize operational disruption. Weekend Work (Minimize Operational Disruption) The contractor shall complete the following work over a scheduled weekend shutdown to avoid disruption to building operations: o Shut down all HVAC equipment. o Drain the building's condenser water loop. o Install a new butterfly valve on the main supply pipe after the boiler connections, near the wall where the pipe exits the room. o Install a new threadolet with a well for the boiler header sensor, located between the new valve and the boiler outlet water connection. o Remove the existing Bell & Gossett plate and frame heat exchanger (existing isolation valves to remain). o Furnish and install a new Bell & Gossett plate and frame heat exchanger equivalent to the existing unit. o Refill the building loop, bleed air from the system, and restart all equipment. o Ensure the system is fully operational by the start of business on Monday. Weekday Work (During Normal Business Hours) The contractor shall perform the following work during standard operating hours: o Remove the existing boiler and boiler pumps. o Demolish flue piping up to the section that penetrates the roof; retain this section and provide support bracing if necessary. o Remove boiler pump disconnects/starters and associated electrical components. o Shut off gas at the meter and modify gas piping by relocating the existing ball valve as needed. o Extend the existing boiler pad by constructing framing and pouring concrete toward the entrance doors to accommodate two new boilers. Installation of New Equipment The contractor shall furnish and install: o Two (2) Lochinvar condensing boilers, model FTX600. o Two (2) boiler pumps. o New flue piping routed through the existing flue system, including fabrication of a roof cap. o Condensate neutralizers with drains routed to an existing floor drain. o Independent 120V electrical circuits for each boiler, including emergency shutoff switches. o New copper piping connecting each boiler to the existing main loop. o Isolation valves for each boiler. o BoilerMag XT units for each boiler. o Outdoor air sensor and header sensor, wired to the lead boiler. o Modified gas piping system with isolation valves and test ports for each boiler. o Interconnecting wiring between boilers to enable cascade operation.
