Renovation of a fire / police facility in Palos Heights, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.
This project is for roof repairs at the Fire Station. Project Narrative The Palos Heights Fire Department is soliciting bids for a roof replacement project at its Station 1 facility located at 12300 S. Harlem Avenue . The project consists of the removal and replacement of the existing roofing system over an approximate roof area of 2,500 square feet . Work shall include all labor , materials , equipment , and related components necessary to provide a complete and watertight roofing system in accordance with the outlined scope of work . Existing Roof System Assembly The current roofing system is understood to consist of the following components : Metal deck Structurally tapered lightweight concrete Polyisocyanurate insulation 1/2 " cover board Modified bitumen membrane Proposed Scope of Work The new roofing system shall include , but not be limited to , the following : o Remove existing roofing membrane and any wet insulation down to the existing vapor barrier at the lightweight concrete substrate Install two (2 ) layers of 2.6 " polyisocyanurate insulation adhered in low -rise foam adhesive Install a fully adhered 60 - mil EPDM roofing system Furnish and install new 24 -gauge pre -finished Kynar edge metal Provide manufacturer's 20 -year No Dollar Limit ( NDL ) warranty Replace two (2 ) existing roof drains Supply and install two (2 ) new platform curbs for A/ C condensers Disconnect , pump down , raise , and reinstall two (2 ) A/ C condensers
