The work covered by the Contract Documents consists of improvement to the Skyline Trail Elevated boardwalk at Ludington State Park. Included in this work is furnishing all supervision, labor, materials, equipment, activities and related costs necessary for completing the improvements. Work includes but is not limited to: Base bid work summary consists of removal of the existing boardwalk and steps from Stair Run A to approximate location of Platform 33, the first run of stairs at the east end and the middle stairway as shown on the existing conditions drawing sheet. Installation of new stairs, elevated boardwalk from Stair Run A to Platform 33, and site restoration along all disturbed areas. Also includes removal of asphalt pavement and replacement with concrete near Stair Run A. Base bid must also include all shop drawings, submittals and fabrication drawings for work in Alternate 1. B. The Contractor shall visit the site of the work and shall completely inform itself relative to construction hazards and procedure, labor, and all other conditions and factors, local and otherwise, which would affect execution and completion of the work and its cost. Such considerations shall include the arrangement and condition of the existing structures and facilities, the availability and cost of labor and facilities for transportation, handling and storage of materials and equipment. All such factors shall be properly investigated and considered in the preparation of the Contractor's proposal. There will be no subsequent financial adjustment for lack of such prior information.
