The City of Inkster is soliciting qualified contractors to provide grass cutting and light debris removal services for vacant lots and vacant residential structures throughout the City. Services may include full lot mowing (rear to curb), frontage “window” cuts, spot or nuisance abatement cuts, and removal and proper handling of light, non-hazardous debris. Contractors are required to provide all labor, equipment, supervision, and transportation necessary to complete assigned work. Work must meet strict mowing, trimming, cleanup, and reporting standards. The City anticipates approximately four mowing cycles per season, with assignments and schedules determined by the Department of Public Services. Bidders must demonstrate experience in similar municipal or large-scale mowing services, availability of required equipment, adequate staffing and supervision, and the ability to meet scheduling and reporting requirements. A minimum of three references for comparable work is required. Bidders must comply with all City, State, and Federal regulations, use OSHA-compliant equipment and safety practices, and meet specified insurance and bonding requirements. Contractors must complete assigned work within 10 business days per cycle, perform re-cuts within 1 business day if work fails inspection, maintain daily logs, submit weekly reports, and provide before-and-after photos when applicable. Illegal dumping is prohibited and may result in contract termination.
