Renovation of an educational facility in Marquette, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Should any bidder find discrepancies between the Drawings and Specifications, or should he be in doubt as to their exact meaning, he should notify the Architect-Engineer at once; NMU Engineering and Planning. The Architect-Engineer may then, at his option, issue Addenda clarifying same. The Architect-Engineer will not be responsible for oral instructions or for the Contractor's misinterpretations of Drawings and Specifications. 2. The University reserves the right to issue Addenda at any time prior to the bid opening. All such addenda shall become, upon issuance, an inseparable part of the Contractor Documents. Each bidder shall incorporate within his bid proposal all costs for items listed in the Addenda; and shall acknowledge The Project consists of: Replacing the T8 4-foot fluorescent lamps in the existing lighting fixtures with new T8 4-foot LED direct drive lamps in all the fixtures noted in the attached spreadsheet. Note fixtures are 277 volts. Floor plans are attached for referencing the listed room locations. Existing lighting plans are also attached for reference for existing circuitry. Drawings listed in spreadsheet are from the original set unless noted otherwise. The quantities of fixtures and lamps are current in the attached spreadsheet. Note that lighting controls are not part of this project. At each fixture, the following tasks shall be completed: 1. Remove existing fluorescent lamps and place them in the boxes the new LED lamps came in. Contractor shall store boxes with the removed fluorescent lamps in a location specified by Owner in Science Building. NMU will have their lamp recycling service pick up the boxes monthly. 2. Provide Keystone KT-LED10.5T8-48G-840-DX2/G2 lamp as the one-for-one replacement for each fluorescent lamp. Lamp is a T8, 10.5 watts, 4-foot, 4000K, medium bi-pin base, double ended wired. 3. Wire existing fixtures for the lamps to be double ended a. Cut all existing connections to ballast as shown in attached double ended wiring diagram and remove ballast. See Figure A in the lamp cutsheet for typical ballast configurations. Existing ballast can remain in place if space allows but wiring to it must be cut to capture full energy savings. Existing fusing shall remain. b. Re-wire fixture as shown in the double ended wiring diagram in the lamp cutsheet. For double-ended wiring, use either shunted or nonshunted lampholders. Contractor to verify existing lampholder configuration. to be installed in the second fixture in the opposite orientation. Verify existing fusing protects both fixtures. Label each end to identify the line and neutral end with a "L" and "N". Note: There should not be any exposed wires at the end of installation. c. Add label to fixture noting that lamps are direct drive line voltage. 4. Wipe down fixture diffuser. 5. Vacuum up any particles that fell onto desk or flooring below. 6. Replace existing dimmer switches as noted in the lighting inventory spreadsheet.
