Contractors must purchase bid documents from AWCK to be on the bidders list and submit a bid.** The City of Kannapolis Curb Ramp Installation and Modifications involves the removal and replacement of existing curb ramps at various locations in the city, with associated sidewalk and/or curb and gutter repairs or other work as necessary or as directed by the City Engineer. Bidders are advised that the City of Kannapolis has established a goal of 10 percent minority business enterprises. The bidder must identify the minority business participation on the project and use the provided forms in the bid documents. Bids must comply with the Bidding Documents on file and are to be received on a unit price basis. Bid security of 5% of the Bidder's maximum Bid must accompany each Bid. The successful bidder must furnish a Construction Performance Bond and a Construction Payment Bond for performance and payment of all bills and obligations related to the contract. Contractors must possess a "Highway" or "Unclassified" contractor license in North Carolina. All subcontractors must also be licensed in accordance with NC General Statutes if licensure is required for their work. Contractors and all subcontractors must conform to the labor standards employment requirements specified in the contract documents. North Carolina Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Roads and Structures, dated January 2024, shall be used for this project. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities. Award will be made to the lowest responsible bidder considering quality, performance, and time specified in the bid form for the performance of work.
