Site work and new construction of a playground / park / athletic field in Kannapolis, North Carolina. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a 1,500-square-foot playground / park / athletic field.

Park design, engineering, landscape architecture, and related professional services are requested for the Kannapolis Bakers Creek Park Building Project. The project includes construction of a new approximately 1500 sq. ft. restroom/concession/office facility, landscaped patio/plaza area, renovation of existing accessible parking spots, utility upgrades/connections (including bringing fiber network cables into the new building from Glenn Avenue), accessible sidewalks connecting to existing pathways, site infrastructure (water, sewer, electrical, stormwater improvements, etc.) utilizing existing utilities where possible, site furnishings (benches, trash cans, picnic tables), and landscaping. The existing restroom building must remain operational as long as feasibly possible. Proposals are sought from firms with experience in similar Parks & Recreation projects or teams with relevant subconsultants. Required services include detailed design development and construction documents, architectural, landscape architecture, civil/structural engineering, physical survey, subsurface exploration if needed, bid preparation/review, permitting and construction contract administration, utility coordination, and detailed cost estimating. Sealed responses to the RFQ must be submitted by 4:00pm on the due date. Three hard copies should be delivered in a sealed envelope clearly marked with the project name and the submitting firm. Proposals received after the deadline will not be considered but will be retained in the project file. The City encourages responses from all qualified businesses, including Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprises (MWBE/HUB).
