IDOT: Call 1 - SH-21 Avalanche Monitoring Device Installation PROJECT DESCRIPTION The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) is implementing a sonic-based avalanche detection system along State Highway 21 (SH-21) at milepost 100.5 near Banner Summit to enhance real-time monitoring of avalanche activity and improve traveler safety. The selected contractor will furnish, install, configure, and commission a complete Sonic Detector system capable of detecting avalanche events through acoustic signatures and transmitting alerts to ITD operations personnel. The Contractor will also assist the Department to obtain the necessary approvals from the Forest Service. ON PAGE 36, SUBSECTION 105.04 - COORDINATION OF CONTRACT DOCUMENTS 11/25 Delete items 7 through 12 and add the following: 7. Buy America Insert 8. Quality Assurance (QA) Manual Supplementals 9. Standard Supplementals 10. Standard Specifications 11. Standard Drawings 12. QA Manual Item No. 1 INFRASONIC AVALANCHE MONITORING SYSTEM (IAMS) DESCRIPTION This work consists of furnishing, installing, configuring, testing, and commissioning a complete Infrasonic Avalanche Monitoring System (IAMS) for use along SH-21 near milepost 100. The system shall detect the US Forest Service. The IAMS shall support ITD's avalanche forecasting program by: o Detecting natural and triggered avalanches o Providing automated alerts o Supporting road closure and control operations o Enhancing safety for the traveling public and ITD staff BIDDER Q&A 1/25 Prior to bid opening, submit any project-related questions through QuestCDN - Submit questions by 5:00pm MT on the Thursday prior to the bid opening.
