A. The work of this Contract includes all work necessary to produce complete and fully usable water, sewer, and green stormwater infrastructure facilities (surface and subsurface) as shown and described in the Contract Documents. B. Construction shall not begin until all erosion and sedimentation control facilities have been installed and approved by the PWD Project Manager. The Contractor shall minimize disturbance within the working area wherever possible and restrict the limit of disturbance to the extent feasible. C. The paving work of this Contract has a designed service life of 40 years. All such work shall conform strictly to the requirements of the Philadelphia Streets Department and of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. D. Experience indicates that inadequate compacting of backfill in water, sewer, and above stormwater trenches frequently results in premature failure. The Contractor will be required to employ the best practices for placing and compacting backfill as directed in these specifications in order to prevent such failure. E. The Contractor shall be required to maintain a clean, functional, and safe worksite at all times. Measures indicated herein are considered the minimum acceptable requirements to maintain a responsible worksite. Site-specific conditions may mandate additional measures on any given project. In such cases, the Contractor is required to be amenable and responsive to requests from the PWD Project Manager to increase site management procedures in place. Sewer Lining in E.
