The Contractor must be a current Certified Guardrail Installer and hold a license for such in the state of Alaska. The Matanuska-Susitna Borough is soliciting a qualified and certified contractor to perform repairs to existing guardrail segments, at Weltin Way (approximately 0.28 miles South of East Falk Road on both sides of road, and two locations on Edgerton Parks (approximately 1.24 miles and 1.81 miles West off Palmer-Fishhook Rd). The objectives of this contract are to: o Perform repairs to existing guardrail segments at Weltin Way, and two locations on Edgerton Parks. o Obtain material that is of exact replacement, free of defects, and nonconforming components. o When existing application is not obtainable, the replacement should be of industry approved application or retrofitted to meet the current standards. o All guardrails should be in accordance with the AASHTO Roadside Design Guide. DOT&PF Standard Drawings can be referenced for details. o Establish clear, measurable requirements to support inspection, acceptance, and public safety.
