Site work and paving for a road / highway in Columbus, Ohio. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.

https://www.sent-trib.com/2026/06/06/perrysburg-capital-improvement-projects-highlighted-at-chamber-meeting/ PERRYSBURG – A number of capital improvement projects are on tap for this year in the city of Perrysburg. At the May 20 Perrysburg Area Chamber of Commerce meeting, Joe Fawcett, city administrator, provided information on what chamber members can expect as they navigate the city this summer. “The first project I’m highlighting is no secret to anybody in this room. It’s phase two of the downtown revitalization project,” he said. The project, he explained, blends architectural elements with the historic nature of the downtown while making a number of improvements, including infrastructure, street lights, traffic signals and pedestrian crossing signals. “It provides a space that complements and encourages events such as the farmer’s market, all while addressing much needed ADA deficiencies,” Fawcett added. Another project being undertaken is the Fort Meigs ditch. “The Fort Meigs project has a public safety focus with the road and sidewalk falling into the ditch, quite literally,” he explained. In conjunction with the ditch and road repair, the city will replace the sidewalk with a 10 foot wide multiuse path at a cost of $2.8 million. City officials also plan to construct a multiuse path along Ohio 25 from the divergent diamond at I-475 north to Indiana Avenue. “So 80% of this project up to $788,000 is being paid for with Transportation Alternative Fund grant money,” he said. Fawcett noted that a traffic improvement is on tap for the intersection of Coe Court and Fort Meigs Road where a traffic light is being installed. “This will make it easier for people to get in and out of the subdivision,” Fawcett said, adding, “It also will make it a lot easier and safer for the fire division when responding to emergency calls.” Looking ahead to 2027, Fawcett said the largest project will be a water main replacement on Front, Second and Third streets and Indiana Avenue. The project is under design right now. Next year also will see the reconstruction of Indiana Avenue from Findlay to Mulberry streets . “This is really the last section of Indiana that needs to be reconstructed,” he explained. West South Boundary from Westbrook Drive to Louisiana Avenue will be resurfaced next year as will Louisiana from Indiana to the city limits. He described that stretch of Louisiana as being “like a road of speed bumps so this is going to be a much needed improvement.” Next year’s plans also include a multiuse path leading to Hull Prairie Intermediate School which will include a pedestrian hybrid beacon, which when activated, requires traffic to stop. About 80-90% of the funding will come from outside sources. Fawcett said he would be remiss not to mention ODOT’s project in 2027, including a divergent diamond planned for U.S. 20. The project is expected to significantly impact traffic in other parts of town as motorists divert to other exits, he said. -------------------------------- The project consists of performing an automated pavement condition survey of the City's roadway network using the ASTM standardized method (PCI), which will be used by the pavement management system. Tasks include obtaining roadway network pavement types and dimensions and obtaining images. Proposals are to be submitted electronically. Firms must meet all mandatory requirements stated in the request for proposal in order to be considered for contract award.
