The Town of Bass Lake, Sawyer County is requesting bids for crack sealing of William Road, approximately 4 miles. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked "Crack Seal." A Certificate of Insurance and W-9 is required from the successful bidder. The Town of Bass Lake reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids in part or whole, or to accept the bid(s) deemed most advantageous to the Town, and to waive any irregularities in the bidding process. All Crack Sealing must be done when road temperatures are between 40 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit when weather does not promote moisture to enter the crack. _ All open cracks per road section shall be sealed. _ Cracks shall be routed _ inch wide and _ inch deep. _ Routing shall be accomplished with clean cutting edges to produce a uniform and consistent reservoir with vertical sides and flat bottom with minimal spalling. _ When performing cutting or routing operations equipment must be fit with a dust suppression system capable of meeting the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Respirable Crystalline Silica construction standard, 29 CFR _ 1926.1153. _ Routing shall be centered in the crack space. _ Areas where there is more than one crack in a 12 inch wide area shall not be routed. _ All cracks shall be blown out and cleaned completely. _ Compressors used for cleaning cracks shall be equipped with necessary filtering to prevent moisture and oil from entering the crack. _ All cracks shall be heat lanced at temperatures of 2500 - 3000 degrees Fahrenheit and at a velocity of 2000 - 3000 feet per second. _ All cracks shall be filled with Crafco 201 or equivalent Type 2 material that meets ASTM specifications unless otherwise specified and applied in a manner that meets ASTM specifications. _ Filler material shall remain flexible between temperatures of -50 degrees Fahrenheit and +120 degrees Fahrenheit. _ All cracks shall be finished with an over band not to exceed 1/8 inch thick or 2 inches in width on each side of the crack unless otherwise specified. _ All crack seal material shall be blotted with single-ply tissue paper. _ All signing and flagmen to be provided by the bidder per Wisconsin MUTCD standards. _ Work shall be completed prior to August 30, 2026. _ Bidder shall include with the bid, type of material and an estimate of total material weight to be used. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project.
