The scope of work for Contract No includes approximately 5500 square yards of roadway milling and profiling, and Superpave WMA wearing course; base repair; keyway milling; line striping; inlet repairs; additional parking lot paving, add alternates for additional paving and all necessary appurtenances and restoration for said construction. Any technical questions regarding the bid documents are to be directed to LSSE. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud via video conference. Interested parties may contact the Borough of Castle Shannon for access information prior to the date and time identified herein. Pennsylvania prevailing wage rates apply. Proposals must be upon the forms furnished by the Borough of Castle Shannon. The bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid, made payable to the Borough of Castle Shannon to guarantee the bidders entrance into the contract if given the award. The Borough of Castle Shannon reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any informalities in the bidding. No bid may be withdrawn for ninety (90) calendar days after the scheduled time for receipt of bids. Attention is directed to the fact that procurement is subject to all requirements of the Pennsylvania Steel Products Procurement Act, Act No. 1978-3; and for Contract value exceeding $25,000, the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act (Act of 1961 P.L. 987), and The Public Works Employment Verification Act (July 2012) apply. The Borough of Castle Shannon shall (a) award the construction contract to the lowest responsible bidder therefore, or (b) reject all bids received within ninety (90) days of the date of bid opening; provided, however, that the Borough of Castle Shannon may, in its sole discretion, delay such award or rejection for up to one hundred twenty (120) days from the bid opening date until the Borough of Castle Shannon has received all required approvals from other governmental agencies.
