Renovation of a library in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 8,500-square-foot library.
1) Replacement of 108 existing windows with comparable fiberglass models; and 2) Replacement of approximately 8,500 square feet of rolled carpet with carpet tile. The project consists of the following: Replacement of approximately 108 windows with double pane, heavy commercial fiberglass models of equivalent size and configuration. Replacement of approximately 8500 square feet of rolled carpet with carpet tiles. Installation of approximately 1000 linear feet of vinyl wall base in carpeted rooms. Work will take place at the Brentwood Public Library, which is located at 3501 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15227. Bidder is responsible for disposal of existing equipment and restoration of disturbed areas. Expenses associated with such activities shall be incorporated into the unit cost of construction. Bidder shall be required to maintain a performance bond, labor & materials payment bond, public liability insurance, property damage insurance, and worker's compensation insurance in the amount specified in the proposal documents, and certificates associated with the same shall be filed with the Borough at the time that an agreement is executed with the selected bidder. All proposals shall additionally comply with Pennsylvania prevailing wage regulations. In order to receive consideration, bidders must electronically accompany with the proposal a Bid Bond from a Surety Company in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the Proposal as a guarantee that, if the Proposal is accepted, the successful Bidder will enter into an Agreement within 15 days after a Notice of Award is issued by the Borough. The responses provided in the proposal must remain valid for a period of no less than sixty (60) days from the date of the bidding opening. No Bidder may withdraw a Proposal during the sixty (60) day period without forfeiting the bid bond amount. The Borough reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, or any part thereof, for any reason, and also reserves the right to waive any informality therein.
