Renovation of a library in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 8,965-square-foot, two-story above grade library.

13 percent Minority and 2 percent Female Business Enterprise; and the Allegheny County Ordinance #6867-12, setting forth goals of 5 percent Veteran-Owned Small Businesses. The Work of the Project is defined by the Contract Documents and includes, but is not limited to, the following scope 1. Project is an occupied, targeted renovation. 2. Selectively demolish and/or salvage building and site features as indicated. 3. Remove a portion of the upper floor, the existing interior stair, and build a new stair hall and communicating stair. 4. Excavate for and build a new cast-in-place concrete elevator pit outside of the existing building envelope. Install a new, modular, machine-room-less, two-stop elevator. Install exterior cladding to this manufactured elevator hoistway structure. 5. Install new exterior, at grade, HVAC package units. Connect to existing interior ductwork, grilles, registers, and diffusers. 6. Install a new 3-Phase electrical service. 7. Install new exterior and interior lighting. 8. Extend existing power to miscellaneous new devices. 9. Renovate upstairs single-user toilet room and add a new one next to it. 10. Refurbish existing flagpole and base. 11. Refurbish existing glazed wood entrance doors, transoms, and trim/woodwork indicated. 12. Install new hollow metal exit door and frame in existing masonry opening. 13. Install new door and automatic operator at McClure Avenue entrance. 14. Scrape and paint exterior window frames and exterior vestibule ceiling. 15. Selected Alternates may add to this scope. 16. Exterior work must be performed during acceptable weather and temperature conditions, e.g. 40 degrees Fahrenheit and rising. 17. Interior work must be planned and scheduled to allow primary uses of the library to continue with minimal interruption. Project cost is anticipated to be approximately $1,150,600.00. Bidders may submit bids for the project as described. Bids should be submitted according to the Project Manual's Section 00 30 00 "Instructions to Bidders." The project is subject to applicable statutes and regulations of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, including procurement codes and various acts governing public construction, labor, and materials, as well as employment verification and fingerprint reporting requirements.
