Renovation of a military facility in Sheldon, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 16,430-square-foot military facility.

The general scope of work includes renovation of an existing Readiness Center. Work includes selective demolition, alteration, and re-work of existing building systems. The area of renovation is approximately 16,430 square feet. Alternate Bid No. 1 includes removal of existing and installation of new radiant tube heaters in the Drill Hall, installation of new destratification fans and associated power in the Drill Hall, and painting of all exposed conduit needed to supply power to the destratification fans. Alternate Bid No. 2 includes removal and replacement of lighting in specific rooms (106, 107, 108A, 111, 111A, 111B, and 115A), along with any work required to modify, patch, and/or repaint ceilings for the new lighting. Bids must be uploaded to the State of Iowa IMPACS system. Bids must be submitted using the enclosed Form of Bid as set forth in the Instructions to Bidders. Contractors must comply with Chapter 91C of Iowa Code. All bidders must comply with affirmative action/equal employment opportunity provisions of the State of Iowa and the Federal government. Opportunities for Targeted Small Businesses are provided per Chapter 73 of the Code of Iowa. The Iowa Department of Public Defense reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive irregularities, and to accept the bid deemed in the best interest of the State of Iowa and the Iowa Army National Guard.
