Reference Number 0000420999 The North Kingstown School Department (NKSD) is seeking qualified bids for Waste Trash and Recycling Collection. The following request is for a one -year service contract, with two (2) one-year options The North Kingstown School District (henceforth ''NKSD") is seeking bids for waste and recycling services in a multi-facility/school environment. In addition to traditional hauling, recyclables processing and disposal services NKSD is seeking a vendor who will be proactive in helping NKSD manage all waste and recyclables more effectively. The Contractor(s) will assist NKSD to eliminate, reduce, re-use, recycle and ( as a last resort) dispose of wastes generated. It is intended that the successful bidder will be the driving force behind increased diversion, working in partnership with NKSD staff, students and custodial personnel. Bid prices shall include weekly collection, transportation and disposal of all items collected in this bid option. Locations: North Kingstown High School- 150 Fairway Drive D-Building - 120 Fairway Drive Maintenance facility -110 Fairway Drive Davisville Academy School & NKSD Early Learning Center - 50 East Court Davisville Middle School - 200 School Street Wickford Middle School - 250 Tower Hill Road Hamilton Elementary School - 25 Salisbury Avenue Quidnessett Elementary School - 166 Mark Drive Stony Lane Elementary School - 825 Stony Lane Forest Park Elementary School- 50 Woodlawn Drive Fishing Cove Elementary School - 110 Wickford Point Road Scope of Work Contractor will be responsible for: NKSD requires removal of trash via regularly scheduled service, on call, and seeks to improve recycling rates and improve its recycling program. A price, by building and in total for basic trash hauling, identifying frequency and size of receptacle is a minimum requirement. Custodial and Facilities Staff are trained to collect, deposit and confirm recycling materials are separated from waste streams. Bidders should identify training programs to enhance this objective. Program description should include a minimum number of hours, presentation format, and tools to measure success of this effort must be clearly presented in submission. Any and all proposals shall be rejected if there is a reason to believe that collusion exists among the bidders. Bid quotations submitted shall remain firm for a period of ninety (90) days after the time set for the opening of the bids. Any proposal may be withdrawn, on a written request dispatched by the bidder in time for delivery in the normal course of business, prior to the hour fixed for the opening of proposals. During a period of ninety (90) days following the opening of proposals, no proposal may be withdrawn.
