Site work and paving for a transportation facility in Kalispell, Montana. Completed plans call for site work for a transportation facility; and for paving for a transportation facility.
Schedule 1: Taxiway Pavement Rehabilitation Project. The Kalispell City Airport is seeking bids to replace the paving and the build-up of the base and sub base per the detailed cross section provided on the plans and referenced in the geotechnical report for taxiway rehabilitation. The project involves approximately 1,244 feet in length and 20 feet in width. Work includes removing and disposing of existing materials, installing new materials per required cross sections, and installing a geotextile Class 1 fabric per AASHTO M 288. The taxiway shutdown is limited to less than 21 days. The work consists of mobilization and demobilization, removal and disposal of existing pavement and base/sub-base materials, preparation of base and sub-base per plan specifications (approximately 2,765 Sq Yd), installation of asphalt per plans and specifications (approximately 2,765 Sq Yd), and incidentals and required testing per City of Kalispell Engineering Design Standards and MPWSS. All bidders must provide bid security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid amount, using lawful currency, cashier's or certified check, bank money order, or bid bond from a surety corporation authorized in Montana. Bid security is payable to the City of Kalispell and is forfeited if the selected bidder fails to enter into a contract or provide a performance bond. The successful bidder must enter into a contract and provide a sufficient performance bond within fifteen (15) calendar days of bid acceptance. The successful bidder will be required to comply with Federal and State laws, including Montana Prevailing Wage Rates, and furnish acceptable security for the full contract amount to ensure faithful performance and payment of claims for labor, material, and subcontractors. The City reserves the right to accept the lowest responsible bid, reject any or all bids, or waive technicalities in the best interest of the City.
