New construction of a military facility in Johnston, Iowa. Completed plans call for the construction of a 7,200-square-foot, one-story above grade military facility.

The general scope of work includes, but is not limited to: construction of a one-story open structure pre-engineered metal building totaling 7,200 square feet for military training. Building finishes consist primarily of exposed structural elements which are painted, and prefinished metal roofing materials. Bids shall be submitted on the enclosed Form of Bid as set forth in the Instructions to Bidders. Any construction contractor performing work in Iowa (including out-of-state contractors) must comply with Chapter 91C of Iowa Code. Bidders must comply with all affirmative action/equal employment opportunity provisions of the State of Iowa and the Federal Government. The Iowa Department of Public Defense, Iowa Army National Guard, seeks to provide opportunities for Targeted Small Businesses in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 73 of the Code of Iowa. The Iowa Department of Public Defense reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to waive irregularities and to accept a bid that is deemed in the best interest of the State of Iowa and the IANG. This project is exempt from Iowa Sales Tax. Davis Bacon Wages will not apply to this project, however the Build America Buy America Act will apply to this work. Question Deadline 05/13/2026 Bidders and Sub-bidders requiring clarification or interpretation of the Bidding Documents shall make written request to the Architect for interpretation or correction. Such requests must reach the Architect at least seven (7) days prior to the bid date.
