Description

Renovation of an elderly care / assisted living facility in Edmonton, Alberta. Completed plans call for the renovation of a elderly care / assisted living facility.

This project involves replacing the existing fire alarm system, related devices, and wiring with a new addressable, single-stage fire alarm system. The scope includes replacing existing wiring with new wiring and installing a new wire-mold and EMT raceway system throughout the facility. EMT conduit may be used inside mechanical and electrical rooms and through public hallways, while wire-mold raceways shall be used inside residential suites where raceways are exposed. Removed material is to be disposed of as redundant construction material at an approved recycling facility. Fire alarm detection devices containing radioactive material must be disposed of in an approved, environmentally friendly process, and documentation of waste management certificates is required for final approval and acceptance.
