The work involves full and complete installation of facilities as shown on the plans and described in the construction specifications, including but not limited to: construction surveying, staking, and production of as-built drawings; replacement of PRV 1 with a proposed PRV located outside the traveled roadway and shoulder, in the unimproved right of way south of the existing PRV 1; connecting the station inlet to the 12" ductile iron on Taylor PL NW and the outlet to the 10" cast iron on Taylor PL NW; abandonment of the existing PRV and 10" cast iron between the connection points; installation of new PRV, piping, and appurtenances; installation of a 3-inch pressure relief valve and piping with an above ground discharge pipe to an existing surface water ditch; installation of a concrete pad for energy dissipation; extension and grading of the existing surface water ditch as indicated and/or directed; trench excavation, removal of unsuitable material, abandonment of existing utilities, disposal of excavated material, shoring, and dewatering; removal and replacement of asphalt and concrete pavements, overlays, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and driveways; right of way surface and other restoration; furnishing and installing approximately 80 LF ductile iron Class 52 8-inch diameter restrained joint water pipe with polywrap; furnishing and installing approximately 110 LF ductile iron Class 52 10-inch diameter restrained joint water pipe with polywrap; furnishing and installing a 12-inch x 10-inch tapping tee and valve assembly; installing and maintaining adequate TESC measures and restoring all disturbed areas; temporary traffic control measures according to contract documents and applicable standards; testing and disinfecting of water mains; protecting existing utilities, potholing, and resolution of utility conflicts. The estimated project cost is $475,000-$500,000. A total of 45 working days is allowed for completion. A certified check or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price must accompany each bid. Women and Minority Business Enterprises are encouraged to bid. Certification regarding debarment, suspension, and eligibility is required. Bidders are not to contact the City of Renton or the Engineer to obtain bidding documents.
