The Berrien County Health Department is seeking bids for remodeling environmental health space to accommodate a new office. The County of Berrien, on behalf of the Berrien County Health Department (BCHD), is soliciting sealed bids from qualified and licensed contractors to perform interior office renovation and space reconfiguration at the Benton Harbor Health Department facility. The project consists of demolition, framing, drywall, doors and glass partitions, ceiling modifications, HVAC adjustments, electrical relocation, fire suppression and associated finish work necessary to: _ Shrink one existing enclosed office (office 185) _ Construct one additional enclosed office _ Remove an existing doorway-to-storage room (176B) _ Increase usable cubicle space _ Improve functional workflow and space efficiency _ Renovate RM 176 to a office (carpet and door) All work shall be completed in accordance with the specifications outlined in this document. The Environmental Health Division requires reconfiguration of existing interior space to better align with staffing needs and supervisory requirements. The completed project shall result in: _ Two enclosed offices (one resized, one newly constructed) _ Doors with full glass panels or glass sidelites _ Glass partitions where specified _ Removal and infill of an existing storage room door opening _ Increased open cubicle area _ Replace Door 176A with a full glass panel door _ Remove tile and add carpet to RM 176. Work shall be completed in an occupied government facility and must minimize disruption to operations. SITE VISIT An pre-bid site visit will be held on May 13, 2026 at 10am. Location: 2149 E.
